Weekly Kids' Co-op & Features

Welcome to another week of the Weekly Kids' Co-op! I'm so glad you're here! Link-up your posts and check out some others, you might find something inspiring or see a new blog!

This week I'm featuring some of the fabulous homemade beads that were linked up last week. Creative, innovative and shiny! Move over macaroni! Can't wait to try these with my girl!

My favorite part about these? You most likely have all the supplies on hand! Zero cost for tons-o-fun!

I've loved these paper beads for a long time, but haven't gotten around to make any! Ramblings from Utopia made these with her kiddos and they turned out B-eautiful! What a fabulous gift idea--there are endless possibilities of colors, patterns and shapes!

How fun is this tin foil pasta? Lessons Learnt Journal skipped dying pasta and wrapped penne in foil instead! The shiny aspect alone is sure to dazzle a toddler/preschooler! I also love the idea of threading the pasta through pipe cleaners instead of string or yarn.

This idea from the Cardboard Collective is genius! She cut shapes out of corrugated cardboard and placed it in a bowl for threading! Again, the possibilities are ENDLESS! There are so many different types of cardboard you could use for this! It's such a fun and hip necklace and I love that her daughter is rockin' it!

{Weekly Kid's Co-op #7} Linky & Features

Welcome back to another week of the Weekly Kid's Co-op! Last week was CRAZY for this little family so I didn't post, so this week we'll have 5 features instead of 3!

It was a great week of posts! If you missed it, check out last week's Co-op here! So without further ado here are this week's features:

Love this sea life playmat from Making Boys Men! There are SO many different ways to use it and so many other scenes you could create!

Doesn't this Color Mixing and Oobleck activity from Train Up a Child look like tons of fun! We just played with oobleck for the first time last week and I love the color mixing aspect of this post!

How fun is this recycled calendar matching game from Pre-school Play?! What a great way to show real life animals in their habitats!

Ok, how cool is this?! It's a seed matching game from Stories and Children! Such a fun way to teach kiddos about what comes from these seeds and how they are different. We have SO many seeds and beans so we are definitely doing this!

A Day in the Life of the Brown Family shared this adorable post about plants and the art they created! I love all their art projects, especially the tree! Plus, the photography is awesome!

{Weekly Kids' Co-Op} Link Up & DIY Light Table

In lieu of features and in honor of my 600th post!!!, this week I'm posting about our DIY light table. It's something we've been meaning to do for a LONG time and finally got around to it.

Like others I've seen we started with Christmas lights, realized they had lead in them and went back to the drawing board.

We decided on touch lights and I bought a few, but we ended up using some we already had (that I didn't remember we had).

We used a blue tub and I really like the effect it has. It almost looks like pool water, which I think is pretty neat!

The Farmer lined the lid with foil and the top with wax paper to make it brighter, but we still think it needs a few more touch lights.

This project cost us $0 because we already had everything! Ok, except the $3 dollars I spent on cheap batteries at the $ Tree.

Once we had it, we had to wait until it was dark enough to use it because believe it or not every room in our house has a window (and we don't have walk-in closets...much to my dismay). We set it up in the basement since that gets dark fastest.

I found glow in the dark animals at $ Tree and Gammie has these super cool glass rocks at her house (in the craft closet unused) so I took them home when we there last.

After simply moving the animals and rocks around, we played a matching game. I played, too and even tried to trip her up by putting an animal on the wrong color, but she's too smart for that (and she switched it for me when she was checking my work).

She really liked putting the animals under the rocks and then started going to find more things to put on the light table. We are really excited to do this again!

How super duper is this Goodnight Moon Tot Bag from Living Worlds Apart? What a fun way to talk about shapes and colors while patterning, developing fine motor skills and playing! This book is a fav at our house and I think Sweet P would love these activities!

I've been collecting things to use for an emotions unit for awhile and will be adding Tutus and Tea Parties' Emotions Unit to our list! Great ideas like painting emotions, paper plate emotions and fun songs to sing!

We're all about new ways to paint and create so I loved this Salt Painting post from Juggling with Kids. Check out her post for the fun her son had making these!

I'm lovin' this awesome We Love You Because idea from B.Inspired Mama! What a great way to show someone how much you love them and the ideas are endless! Putting this one on the Father's Day idea shelf (should I say Pin board?).

Aren't these Berry Container Monsters from Kitchen Counter Chronicles just awesome? We definitely have a plethora of these around our house AND we love monsters! Definitely giving this one a try in the near future!

I'm diggin' these DIY Easy Reader Books from Playdough to Plato! What a great way to motivate your child to learn new sounds and words! I also love the idea that you can up the difficulty as your child's reading improves.

It should come as no surprise that these Felt Faces from Play Create Explore is one of my faves! I LOOOOVE felt and Sweet P loves making faces so these are the perfect project for us to tackle! Hers turned out way cute and the different variations are so much fun.

Last week our story time teacher read the book, Dog's Colorful Day so I was delighted to see this post about activities to go along with the book by Adventures in Reading with Kids! It's such a cute book and I can't wait to try these activities with Sweet P!

LLM Calling shared 10 fun ways to share Jesus with your child without using paper. I especially love the idea about throwing away your sins using a parachute.

{Weekly Kid's Co-Op} Link Up: Come & Play!

Yikes! Has it really been a week since I posted?! We have been B-to the-U-S-Y at the Farmer's house. With Baby Blue's baptism and Sweet P's birthday party, it's amazing we get any sleep around here. But I'm back and excited for our 2nd week as a hostess for the Weekly Kid's Co-op.

But let's talk about you! We had over 200 ideas linked up last week and I was lovin' all the Earth Day ideas! I'm delighted to share my 3 favorites with you!

I love this flannel board picnic from Miss Courtney Meets BoBo. Don't you just LOVE the salad? And peanut butter, jelly and marshmallow creme? YES please!

This Earth Day craft from little lucky is so simple and lovely! I may need to try this with Sweet P even though Earth Day has passed...but isn't every day Earth Day?!

I'm diggin' this sensory and motor skill Fishing for Shapes activity from Memorizing the Moments. We have some water beads we've been waiting to play with and may try this with something a bit more advanced like letters or numbers since Sweet P is a bit older.

{Weekly Kid's Co-Op} Foam Puzzle Bath Fun

This is my first week as a hostess of the Weekly Kids Co-op and I'm super excited to share this with you! And I, of course, hope you'll link up any of your fun kid crafts, projects and play activities! I am thrilled to work with such creative peeps and have been inspired by the fabulous ideas shared here!

Since this is my first time I'll be sharing one of our projects with you, but look forward to highlights from the previous week's link up in weeks to come! I look forward to seeing what you have to share!

Last week while rifling through our puzzles I found a foam alphabet puzzle and thought it'd be great fun in a bath! The outline of the puzzle is also foam and sticks right to the side of the tub.

We spelled words on the side and she even found the letters to spell out her name! The letters were also fun to scoop up and pour out.

Baby Blue really wanted to get in and play, too!

Note: Our puzzle is from the $ store and the foam soaks up a bit of water. I laid the puzzle out on a towel and let it dry overnight before putting it back together.
