{small hands creating Hope}: remembering my nana

Small Hands Creating Hope

The Small Hands Creating Hope ebook was created and compiled by MaryAnne at MamaSmiles as a way to celebrate 30 years as a cancer survivor! Several other bloggers (including us!) contributed projects that represented sunshine, rainbows and HOPE. Many of the projects include the color purple: the color of cancer survivorship.

As part of this project, I wanted to tell you about my Nana. She died when I was 13. I know that sounds young, but by that point she'd already made a significant impact on my life. A woman who left her mark on many, many hearts, she was the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to someone in need. She spent the last month of her life in the hospital battling leukemia and grave's disease. I share her middle name and so does Sweet P. I so wish she could have met the Farmer and I know Auntie Rosita feels the same way about Mr. Man. We lost her too soon, and I wonder if the advances that have been made over the past 18 years would have given her more time. My nana was truly an inspiration to others, and God gained an amazing angel when He called her home.

Here is the project we submitted:

Please consider supporting the Small Hands Creating Hope fundraising campaign and cancer research efforts.
